SMART IDEAS TO CREATE A SALTWATER AQUARIUM AT HOME

If you are not a snorkeler then you may have never got the opportunity to dig deep in the marine world and watch the beautiful saltwater fish and other species. However, if you have a hobby of bringing the marine globe in your home then start collecting those things that will help you set a saltwater fish tank.

Things Needed to Arrange a Marine Fish Tank

Before you are planning to set a fish tank, make a list and jot down the names of those things that you need for your marine fish world like:
·         Aquarium – When you are planning to set a saltwater aquarium, obviously a rectangular-shaped tank is required to keep marine-friendly fish breeds and other sea critters. Always   decide what size tank you need to keep the fish. Large fish breeds need a huge tank and   small breeds can easily fit in nano tanks. So, select the size as per requirement.

·      Sea Salt Mix – Like a freshwater tank, you cannot set a saltwater tank, because the marine fish cannot live without salt in an aquarium. So, add sea salt mix in the water of the aquarium, so that the marine fish feels comfortable in the tank.

·      Skimmer/ Filter – Filter or skimmer is required for both freshwater and saltwater tank but different types of filters are needed for specific aquariums. The fish poops, dirt and other toxic elements in the tank are needed to be flushed out by the skimmer, otherwise, fish in the tank may get affected with several diseases.

·       Lighting – Like a filter, lighting is also needed for both saltwater and freshwater tank. Now, both have different variations. Moreover, different fish breeds need different types of lighting for their tank, so fix lighting as per their requirement. Lights in a tank help grow the live plants properly and to energize some fish.

·      Live Rock and Sand Substrate – Rocks and fine gravels help the fish in taking rest in the bottom of the tank. Some bottom-feeders like to consume the algae from the rocks, so rocks in the aquarium are necessary. Moreover, crustaceans like snails and shrimps live in the bottom of the tank on the rocks and sand substrate are needed for them.

·    Marine Plants – Sea plants like Water Lettuce, Red Mangrove and Turtlegrass are some famous aquatic plants which delight the mood of the saltwater fish and provide them an eco-friendly environment. Hence marine plants are needed for the reef aquariums.

·      Thermometer and Test Kit – Checking the temperature of water because arranging the tank is very important, so a test kit is necessary to check the hardness and pH level of the water. Also, a thermometer is needed to check the temperature of the water because each fish needs a specific temperature to dwell.

·      Sea Creatures (Shells, Oysters, etc.) – A reef aquarium is usually ornamented with rocks, , reefs, and sea creatures like oysters and shells because that gives a feel of oceanic beauty in your home. Moreover, your saltwater fish also likes to dwell in such an environment.

Conclusion

Hope these ideas will help you set a saltwater tank easily if you have arranged all the aforesaid things. Always remember a saltwater tank is not like a freshwater tank, so the arrangement of a marine aquarium is not like tropical fish tank.
